Vijay D Jain was not born a superhero. He was as ordinary as all of us are. Fairly good at academics, he was all set to take charge of the family empire. Until one fine evening changed everything.

On the day of the kite flying festival, Makar Sankranti, Vijay was engrossed in getting his kite airborne. And that day, he saw a sight which, as he puts it, was the turning point in his life. Five riders were pulling simultaenous wheelies, in an impeccably organised manner. It struck the right chord in Vijay's mind, and he knew right then, that he had to do it.

Thus began his practice sessions, along with pro-grade local stunt groups. He soon gathered many admirers and friends, thanks to his humble words and gestures. He fondly mentions Zubin Patel, who once flattered him with his compliments during his learning days. Vijay always had an entertainer's instinct. He knew exactly what the crowd wanted. On one sunday, the crowd was an unbelievable five hundred and above, and our man knew he had to show his spark. And on that unforgettable day, Vjiay D Jain introduced the Doughnut wheelie in India. He went round and round in circles, on one wheel, with his brother perched behind him, and the crowd went ballistic! The Doughnut wheelie was an art barely mastered by Superbike riders abroad, and Vijay did it, right here in Mumbai, on a 7bhp Bajaj Chetak!

His circle grew, and his fans increased with time. Not the one to sit idle, Vijay entered the world of Motorsport. The country's motorcycling enthusiasts were shocked to see Vijay turn up at a major speed event in Mumbai on a Chetak. Almost everyone thought he was a fool. And then Vijay pulled what he calls the best wheelie of his life. He went on for more than a hundred metres on one wheel, bedazzling other powerful motorycles competing against him. On that fantastic day, Vijay D Jain became a superhero. And Wheelieboy was born.
